The Saddleback Church AS/HFA Parent Support Group meets at the church on the second Monday of the month, in Room 310 between 7 and 9pm except in December and August. Most meetings are sharing meetings, without a specific topic or speaker. Occasionally we will have a theme topic for discussion (though sharing need not be limited to the topic) or a special speaker. The dates for 2010 are:
January 11 - general sharing ; February 8 - general sharing ; March 8- general sharing
April 12 Topic - Social Stories ; May 10 - general sharing; June 14 - Topic - Psych testing; July 12 - TBA
August 9 - Second Annual Art show - featuring the art of the aspies and auties we love!
September 13 - Topic - IEPs; October 11 - TBA ; November 8 - general sharing
The adult AS group was started in January 2006. We meet on the fourth Monday night of the month between 7:30pm and 9pm in room 310 at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest. The group is formed so that adults with AS can meet each other and that topics of concern can be addressed. Concerns that many adults with AS have: relationships, social skills, jobs, and others. This group provides a place to talk, learn, and connect. In May, June and July, we will be meeting at the Food Festival Food Court in Foothill Ranch between 7pm and 9pm - look for the sign.
